Green Initiatives

  • Water Reclamation Cistern
This resourceful system captures and stores rain water from the courtyard to irrigate plants year-round. The estimated water savings is 94,000 gallons per year.
  • Free Bike Share Program
Providing increased mobility options for tenants when taking their lunch breaks, running errands, or incorporating exercise into their workday, especially for those who use alternative modes to get to work.
  • Zipcar Station
999 offers a zip car station for those using them.
  • CSA Membership
999 has developed a relationship with a farmer who grows vegetables and delivers the produce to the building. By creating a sense of community and leading the way towards a more sustainable future, this concept is innovative in the commercial office building environment.
  • 999 purchases sustainable office and building products and actively practices recycling.
  • The energy management system was recently updated helping to gain tighter control of space temperatures. An optimum start program was also initiated which has allowed a 5 hour a week saving to operating cost and equipment life.
  • A lighting retrofit in the building and garage has been performed. In addition to the fixture replacement, new lighting controls were added so that the exterior row of lights will now turn off during the day when an acceptable light level has been reached outside, reducing overall KWH consumption by 640,000.
  • New Merv 14 rated filters have been installed in all air handling units providing a 30% efficiency rate over industry standards.
  • Low flow restroom fixtures were recently installed. Generating an annual water savings of 2.2 million gallons, the new fixtures use only 1.6 gallons of water per flush.
